Lydney Town Council & local Community Groups have joined forces to bringing forward a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) to ensure Lydney is a lively prosperous town. NDPs are at the forefront of the planning reform and The Localism Act (2011) has provided residents, local groups and traders the power to shape their own future in order to ensure Lydney is both economically sustainable and socially inclusive.
The Lydney NDP has been developed with feedback from local residents, groups and businesses, as well as being subject to an 11-week public consultation that received 165 comments from public and statutory consultees; detailed discussions with The Forest of Dean District Council; and examination by an Independent Examiner.
On Thursday the 18th of February Lydney residents vote YES to adopt Lydney NDP - Approved Version October 2015. There was a 17% turnout for the referendum (approx. 1,500 people) and those 86.24% (1,022 people) voted YES and 13.75% (163 people) voted no.
Lydney Neighbourhood Development Plan has been formally accepted.
