THE steering group behind Lydney’s Neighbourhood Development Plan has just benefited from a grant of £5,500 to help support the production of a local community action plan. In January, members of the steering group driving the local plan forward hosted a well attended meeting of the community at which local residents voiced the issues that were important to them as individuals and the area as a whole. Neighbourhood Development Plan’s have been initiated as a result of the Localism Act and are being used as the forefront of the planning reform. This document, when completed and approved locally, will become a legal document that will have been shaped by local residents and fully inclusive of residents’ wishes and provide the direction of Lydney’s future growth. The grant of £5,500 from the Department for Communities and Local Government will enable those interested in Lydney’s future to ensure that the town is both economically sustainable and socially inclusive in the future.
Two Town meetings have been arranged so people can discuss the Plan and how it will impact the town. Come along and share your thoughts. The Meetings are on: Wednesday the 25th of September 2013 at 7pm in Naas Lane Community Centre Wednesday the 2nd of October 2013 at 7pm in Nass Lane Community Centre If you would like more information on these events please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
